DELTA AIRLINES SERVES PEANUTS ON NORTHWEST AIRLINES FLIGHTS
As a result of the merger between Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines, Northwest flights now provide peanuts to passengers. For a customer with a peanut allergy, this change brings with it the risk of an allergic reaction in the cabin of a plane thousands of feet above ground with no access to emergency medical services.
Airborne food reactions do occur and the potential for an airborne peanut allergic reaction on a plane is real. The Food Allergy Support Group of Minnesota is deeply disapointed by this decision by Delta Airlines. Mpls Star Tribune article- Feb. 13, 2009Mpls Star Tribune article- Mar. 3, 2009
